A Nigerian OAP identified as Smiles Baba has showered praises on actress Mercy Johnson, while taking time to berate Tonto Dikeh and Linda Ikeji.

He made his statement in reaction to the ongoing controversy trailing actress Tonto Dikeh, Linda Ikeji where he stated that despite her noises, she ended up as a baby mama. And he didn’t spare Linda Ikeji as well.

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.
In 2012, when Mercy Johnson had her first child, Purity, a job actually came knocking at her door on return…. As a professional that she is, she chose not to let her manager and Linda Ikeji fans down, hence she shunned omugwo and went ahead for the shoot. Then came madam critic, TONTO DIKE. Tonto disparaged Mercy’s struggles and Linda Ikeji talked down on her hustle.

She concluded her rant with a boast, that she would rather remain single than be married to a man who is not rich enough to take care of her after childbirth… A man that would allow her go on set while still nursing a newborn…

That was the height of Tonto’s insensitivity to the realities of life… Linda Ikeji helped rebroadcast that unbridled rant from a weed ravaged cosmetic albino of a girl… Little did we know that Tonto was actually speaking under the influence of Churchill’s amu… The same she now call “40 seconds dick.” Fast forward to 2019…

Both Tonto Dike and Linda Ikeji have all gone into one or Linda Ikeji two relationships and come out empty, while Mercy Johnson is still hanging on, and getting better with her husband everyday. Both Tonto Dike and Linda Ikeji did not last up to a quarter of Mercy’s marriage term so far, but have all come out to give long sermons against their baby fathers, whom they now call EX, while Mercy is still hanging on, and Linda Ikeji enjoying her family with 3 lovely kids.

As the case may be, neither me nor you have heard Mercy say anything awful against her husband or marriage… But her critic and media vendor have all gone, saw, ran out and are crying wolf… Whatever lesson you could make out of this situation… Make it. Don’t be a Tonto… Be a Mercy!

Nigeria’s top blogger, Linda Ikeji announced a grand plan in 2016, a social network to steal our hearts and attention. How did that turn out though?
On the 1st November of 2016, Linda Ikeji took everyone by surprise. It wasn’t a new gossip story, or scandal. Linda announced that she was launching her own social network. She called it Linda Ikeji Social.

“Linda Ikeji Social is not just a social networking website,” Linda said on Youtube about the new product. “I’ve combined blogging, with social networking in one package.”
According to Linda Ikeji, she said she was inspired to start LIS when she met fans who said they only visited two sites; her blog and Facebook.
“The idea came to me, and I was like, why can’t I have a website that’s a combination of both blogging and social networking?”
And so, the answer to that question, for her, was Linda Ikeji Social. LIS was an ambitious project, when you think of the fact that she wanted to compete with Facebook, Nairaland, and Twitter.
And it did get our attention, at first.
It was everything we’ve come to expect from social networks; a profile, a timeline to post your stuff, an easy way to find friends. Posts from Linda Ikeji’s blog also get uploaded to everyone’s timeline. In real time. More traffic for the blog, more engagement for the Social Network.
By the first 24 hours, the numbers were astounding.

By the sixth day of LIS, 86,000 accounts were live. For context, Instagram had 25,000 signupson the first day, even though it was already hyped before launch.
Here was Linda, an ex-model, mostly (in)famous for her gossip blog, dropping an entire social network like it was puff-puff.

It got the tech community talking, as you’d expect. There were theories, and counter theories about the likelihood for success of LIS. But one thing everyone agreed on, was that Linda had guts. And we loved it.

Everything was quickly falling in place for the Linda Ikeji Media Empire; besides the main blog, there was a music blog. More attention was being paid to video, with an entire TV station even in the works. Add Linda Ikeji Social to that. It appeared that everywhere your eyeballs went, Linda wanted to follow. Power moves.
How did LIS get so many sign ups so quickly?

“What do I stand to gain when I visit Linda Ikeji Social?”
Linda Ikeji had an answer; money. In the video announcing the launch, she said: “LIS is quite different from any other social networking website, because you can make money on this site.”
Unlike Facebook, which appears to be the main inspiration behind LIS’ design, this new social network came with a Wallet, where you could keep track of how much money you’ve made.

“There’s a lot of money on advertising on Social media. A lot of brands put money on popular online platforms. And we at LIS want to share some of that money we make on the platform with our users.”
There are three ways for users to make money:
1. LIS buys your stories: As long as they are exclusive, original, and authentic. Each story will be bought for N1000.
2. Influencer status: When you get up to 50,000 followers on your page, LIS places a banner on your homepage, and pays you 20% on whatever advertisers pay for each banner. And when you hit 100k, that share reaches 40%.
3. The good old giveaways: Airtime, discounts, etc.
All of this was November last year, and not much seems to have happened since then. Most of this is because novelty tends to wear out. First time use is never really a good measure of whether a product is sticky or not. The true measure of the stickiness is dependent on how much a user returns to it.
So, what happened to Linda Ikeji Social?

*Crickets.*
Linda Ikeji is a cult figure. To many of her critics, she’s just a gossip blogger who would publish just about anything for traffic, not giving any damns to ethics, or sensitivity.

To her loyal followers, she’s not just their number one source for everything news, she represents something. Linda Ikeji is a symbol of hope, a proof that it is possible to succeed, against all odds. One thing everyone can agree on is that, Linda Ikeji remains the one of the most influential figures on the Nigerian Internet. When she buys a car, everyone gets talking. And when she buys a house, shutdown.
In the real sense, it’s not about the product, it never was. It’s about Linda Ikeji. She knows this, and it’s why everything she builds, she names after herself. Linda Ikeji Blog, Linda Ikeji Music(now comatose), Linda Ikeji Social. A Linda Ikeji TV, for terrestial broadcasting is in the works too.
The tendency to do this is deeply ingrained in Nigerian culture. It’s why for instance, our politicians spend taxpayers’ money on projects, and then name it after themselves.
Linda Ikeji Social has never really picked up since the novelty wore off. The reasons why, are more than one.
The LIS Model.
The first problem with LIS was that it was a product built, and launched around one incentive; money. Linda understands that money, above all things, is a major motivation, and was willing to throw a lot of it at people who were willing to contribute stories.
When you build a product around telling users that they’ll earn money, what happens when there doesn’t seem to be money being earned? There’s no incentive to stay.
Let’s paint a scenario:
A contributor sends a story that he’s found. Exclusive. He shares it with LIS. LIS pays N1000. Now imagine 100 people sent in a story once, the easy part here is actually paying out. The difficult part, is the editing, the vetting, and verifying of the stories, a structure the LIS editorial team doesn’t appear to have.
In truth, this model is difficult to scale, when the one thing that makes this story valuable is the exclusivity.
Where are the LIS Influencers?

Linda Ikeji said people with over 50,000 followerswill get paid for every time a banner ad is placed on their homepage. The problem is not that influencers aren’t getting paid. The problem, it appears, is that there are no influencers by her standards. Period.
Linda Ikeji, who has built the social network around herself, hasn’t even garnered up to 8,000 followers.
Perhaps, the coup de grace of Linda Ikeji Social is the name itself.
Person vs. People.
A page can be built around a person, whether it’s a fan page, or a website. Building social networks is different. A social network is a community, and a community is built around not one person, but people.
When people gather, whether it be a newspaper stand, or an online topic, there are conversations. When conversations happen, there are reactions. Reactions create more conversations. This is how social networks work.
Social networks thrive on sharing. None of this seems to be happening on Linda Ikeji Social.
…vs Product.
The products we love today are a product of constant tinkering to better enhance the user experience. Facebook is constantly racing against its own self, trying to get better of its users. So is Twitter. So is Instagram.
The team collects feedback and enhances the product based on that feedback. For LIS, nothing appears to have changed between November 1, 2016, and now.
So, what’s the way forward?
It’s hard enough trying to build a product, not to mention one that’s supposed to be in competition with Facebook. One important way to help build a product people can truly love, is to collect feedback, and hire a skilled team to build, based on that feedback.
LIS is a tiny part of the Linda Ikeji Media empire; with a blogging generating millions monthly, and a TV station on the way, there’s still a lot to look forward to from Linda Ikeji.
If anything is clear, it’s that Linda Ikeji Social, in its current iteration, is not working. It never will. Unless there’s an overhaul from the ground up, Linda Ikeji will always be the one who tried to build a Social Network, and failed. And that’s okay, failure is not entirely a bad thing, as long we learn from it.
She will at the very least, be remembered for trying.

The drama that unfolded recently as a result of the article published by Linda Ikeji definitely got social media buzzing.
Read Linda Ikeji article below:

I argued with myself for a long time whether to put this out or not…and finally decided it was a story I wanted to share.

I’ve always been open about my life but I’m sharing details about my personal life mostly because of the girls who look up to me. The girls I have mentored, mentoring right now and plan to mentor in the future.

The most hilarious is that I had a child for a married man. Lol. Here’s my answer to that! The married man that I will sleep with has not yet been born. If he’s been born, he will die, be buried, rise and die again before he will lay with me. I don’t do married men.

The father of my child is a single man and his name is Sholaye Jeremi. To be honest, at some point I thought he was my final bus stop but you know how life happens…lol. Unfortunately, he and I are a completely closed chapter.

Sadly for our son Jayce, it’s the kind of chapter that can’t ever be opened again. One of the things many people have asked me is how I met this man because we don’t run in the same circle.

Well, I met him 3 years ago at Wheatbaker Restaurant in Ikoyi in December 2015 shortly after I moved to my home in Banana Island, Ikoyi. It was a day after Christmas and I was having dinner with friends when he walked in. He saw me and the rest is history.

He claimed at the time that he had never heard of me which was seriously a turn-on for me because up until then I’d only been meeting men who behaved like fans.

At the time we met, I was 35 and he was 37 and I’d been single for nearly 4 years. I was definitely searching and I fell in love almost immediately and so we became an item.

At the time I met him he lived in a 3-bedroom flat at what used to be 5th roundabout in Lekki after Mobil. I used to drive for almost two hours in traffic from my house to go see him. Most of the time, I carried my laptop to his home to enable me to work and at the same time spend the whole day with him.

It was a whirlwind romance. He was the funniest and most romantic guy I’d met up until that point, so it was easy to fall in love and I truly believed the feeling was mutual. A few weeks after we met, it seemed like we were planning a future together.

This man was already calling me Linda Ikeji Jeremi and making all these plans but then just like that, it was over between us. I went from waking up every morning to love text messages from him to no more calls.

I was just thanking God for finally sending me my own man when all of a sudden we were no longer talking to each other. Later he would tell me what scared him off. My public life. He claims he’s a private businessman and didn’t want the attention being with me would bring to him and I told him I understood and we went our separate ways.

We tried to get back together in 2016 but it didn’t work out so much so we separated again but stayed in touch (mostly him to be honest), stayed friends and that was how our back and forth started.

By mid-2017, we were both still single and we started seeing each other again quietly. There were times it was very intense and we talked about a future together, and there were times that I couldn’t figure out what exactly I was doing with this guy. We were not suited for each other.

Totally different lifestyles. And there was the problem of my fame. I walked away from this man a million times and he came after me a million and one times.

No matter how much I pushed him away, he kept coming back and me, because I couldn’t find anyone else, I kept going back. Lol. So I was basically going back to my ex because I couldn’t find anyone else. *sigh*.

If I tried to explain what happened, I wouldn’t be able to because it was confusing to me. We went from talking about the pregnancy and being okay with it; he even suggested I go to Dubai for my pre-natals as he didn’t trust doctors in Nigeria, to literally not talking to each other anymore.

Around when I was about three months pregnant, he did come to see my parents and actually became very cool with my dad. They were literally exchanging Whatsapp messages every day.

Nigerian Celebrities: Baby Before The Marriage

He later agreed to a traditional wedding which he didn’t follow through and then he switched. He began to treat me with so much hate and aggression that I and my family had to cut him off completely.

To be honest if anybody had told me when we met three years ago, considering how deeply we cared for each other that I would fall pregnant two years later and he would completely turn his back on me for the most part of my pregnancy, I never would have believed it but that’s what happened.

I had to draw strength from myself, my family and close friends. And Jayce…oh my son Jayce, he was my biggest strength. It was almost as if he knew his dad was acting up so he came through for his mum. He was gentle with me when I was carrying him. I had an extremely easy pregnancy. I pushed him out under 3 mins and was in the labour room for less than 30 minutes.

And then my snapback was amazing. Three weeks later, it was almost as if I’d never been pregnant. Jayce was my soldier when his dad turned his back.

But still, I have absolutely no iota of regret meeting Sholaye. Gosh, have you seen Jayce? How can I regret that? God doesn’t make mistakes. If you believe that you’re always led by God like I believe then I have to believe that God led me to this man for whatever reasons best known to Him. I thought God sent him as my life partner but I guess He just used him as a vessel for my greatest blessing.

Now his part in my story is over. I know when to put my hands up and surrender. That God brought someone significant into your life doesn’t mean they are supposed to follow you throughout your life’s journey. We should learn to know when people’s part in our story is over.

Sometimes people just come to serve a purpose in your life and are not meant to stay and there’s no point holding on to them.

This one is done and dusted. It’s just Jayce and I now moving forward and I know life will be beautiful for us.

Being a single mum wasn’t the dream I had for myself; I’d prayed for the kind of happy home my parents built for us (they’ve been together for 40 years). Nothing is more important to me than family.

And we also have no control over the actions of other people towards us. One of the things I have learnt in my life’s journey is that your idea of how life should go might be different from the way life actually goes. It’s called Life Happening.

Sometimes it unfolds into something we never dreamed of but because we don’t recognize the route we find ourselves on our journey through life, doesn’t mean God won’t get us to our destination.

Remember, an uncertain chapter doesn’t ruin the whole book. Life will happen whether we are ready or not. All we can do is keep our heads up and keep moving.

Family and Linda Ikeji close friends told me I owed no one any explanation about the circumstances that led to the birth of my son, but I knew without writing this, I could never stand in front of the young girls who look up to me and talk to them again.

I could never go on my secondary school tour and speak with these girls again about living right and doing right. I would always feel like I have no moral right to do so.

I went to 15 secondary schools in 2017 and talking to those young impressionable girls has been one of the highlights of my life.

I cancelled this year’s tour because I was pregnant and I haven’t made any preparations for next year’s tour because I wanted to set things right first.

I have so many plans for young girls next year and in the coming years with the Selfmade finance and mentorship projects with international collaborations, so this was important for me to do, to explain myself to the young girls who look up to me and feel disappointed that I got pregnant and had a baby out of wedlock.

For years, I have preached decency, morality, and uprightness and despite what happened to me, I mean it from the bottom of my heart. That should be the only way to live. That’s the only way I live. Don’t ever compromise your values.

With this, I was led by my heart and my clock ticking and even though I have no regrets, I’m sorry if I let any of you ladies down by the decision I made, and I hope you learn from my experience. I hope you do better than I did.

The ideal thing would be to find a man you love, who loves you back and gives you stability, get married, have kids and raise a family, not being a single mum or a baby mama.

I was 37 years old at the time I conceived and if I want to be honest, my age played a role in me allowing myself to be pregnant out of wedlock. I don’t want to be having kids in my 40s or struggling with fertility later in life. This wasn’t the plan but like I said before, life happens.

You just have to find a way to make the best of what life throws at you. And so for any young girl, this means anything to, I am truly sorry. I am not sorry I had Jayce, I’m just sorry I didn’t go about it the right way.

The other thing I’ve always said is; do not sleep around with multiple men who just use your body for their pleasure; that is; too many one nights stands, casual sex, many sex partners in a short period of time all in the name of relationships.

Your body deserves better. I feel sex should only happen when you’re in a loving, committed relationship with someone you love.

I was celibate for many years until I met my son’s father and fell in love. And instead of increasing my body count, I just went back to the same eggplant…lol.

My mistake was I should have walked away when the relationship became a waste…lol… but then again, Jayce wouldn’t be here today if I had.

So really, there’s nothing that I have preached that I didn’t practice. So you guys stop trolling me over this abeg! Lol Thank you for reading and thank you for your understanding.
Love and kisses to you and yours. Hugs. Linda”.

There are so many lessons to draw from the article that sparked various conversations.
Below are 5 lessons to be learnt from Linda Ikeji’s saga:

Never Bring Your Child(ren) Into The Relationship Drama

Linda Ikeji mentioned her baby in some parts of the article listed below:

“Two days before my 38th birthday on September 17th, I welcomed my first child, my son, Jayce. I look at him and I wonder why I waited so long to have a child.

I’ve never known love like this. I literally have tears in my eyes every time I look at him. I can’t believe he came out of me.

He is by far my greatest blessing and I’m looking forward to navigating him through life! Now to the reason why you are reading this.

I’m very particular about our young girls and I have personally tried over the years to be an example in some way; tried to teach these girls how to fight for their dreams, how to live right and do right and then I go and have a child out of wedlock and that must be a little confusing to some of them and especially with so many untruthful stuff out there about me.
The most hilarious is that I had a child for a married man……..

Sadly for our son Jayce, it’s the kind of chapter that can’t ever be opened again……

He said something about putting a billionaire baby inside me and I remember jokingly telling him that I’m also a billionaire so our child was going to be a billionaire on both side…and we laughed. But after I fell pregnant, things became extremely weird between us.

I had to draw strength from myself, my family and close friends. And Jayce…oh my son Jayce, he was my biggest strength.
But still, I have absolutely no iota of regret meeting Sholaye. Gosh, have you seen Jayce?
This one is done and dusted. It’s just Jayce and I now moving forward and I know life will be beautiful for us.
My mistake was I should have walked away when the relationship became a waste…lol… but then again, Jayce wouldn’t be here today if I had”.

Regardless of whatever drama you have going on with your baby Daddy or baby Mama ensure you never bring your baby into the issue.

Protect your child(ren) from the misunderstanding as they are vulnerable to whatever strain you have in the relationship.
The child’s interest must always come first regardless of your differences.

Own Your Mistakes

Often times when a relationship turns sour, some people are quick to ascribe the blame to the other party.

The reality is that no one is perfect, hence, it is important to own your mistakes in order to learn from the experience.

“No matter how much I pushed him away, he kept coming back and me, because I couldn’t find anyone else, I kept going back. Lol. So I was basically going back to my ex because I couldn’t find anyone else. *sigh*.

Then I fell pregnant. It wasn’t planned, it just happened; though we talked about having a child together just two months before I fell pregnant.
With this, I was led by my heart and my clock ticking and even though I have no regrets…..

I was 37 years old at the time I conceived and if I want to be honest, my age played a role in me allowing myself to be pregnant out of wedlock. I don’t want to be having kids in my 40s or struggling with fertility later in life. This wasn’t the plan but like I said before, life happens.”
The “God” Excuse

Without even been conscious, some people have used “God” has an excuse to cover up for poor decision or consequences of their actions.

If you plant yam; you will harvest yam at the harvest period. Also if you fall down, you may get bruised but definetely not “pregnant” right?
Linda Ikeji article excerpt:

“I was just thanking God for finally sending me my own man when all of a sudden we were no longer talking to each other.

That God brought someone significant into your life doesn’t mean they are supposed to follow you throughout your life’s journey. We should learn to know when people’s part in our story is over.

Don’t fight for closure, don’t ask for explanations, don’t chase answers, just let them go and know that if God meant for you to have them in your life, He would have given them to you.

For years I’d hammered on how much I was looking forward to getting married, having children and building my own family and I believed God was going to come through for me on that one, but I have come to understand that we have no control over what life throws at us no matter how much we plan, pray, or work.

Sometimes it unfolds into something we never dreamed of but because we don’t recognize the route we find ourselves on our journey through life, doesn’t mean God won’t get us to our destination.”
Social Media The Relationship Judge, Jury And Executioner

History indeed has shown us with other people’s relationships that social media is not the best place to resolve your grievances between you and your Baby Daddy or Baby Mama.

Have you have heard the saying: Three Is A Crowd. Imagine the conflict between you and your baby’s father/mother aired on social media for your numerous followers and any curious person to start to pick sides in the conflict.
Social media is a vicious Judge, Jury and Executioner you definitely do not want to rouse.

Now let’s reveal to you her she became a well known blogger despite other bloggers, what she did to attain to this height she is today.
Below are the revealed secret of what she did:

1.) Having Patience: It took Linda Ikeji Ifeoma Linda Ikeji about four whole years of dedication to start making good cash from her blogging career. How can someone blog for four years without money coming out of it? You keep on renewing your domain name. Patience and determination is a great secret in making it in life.

2.) No Intentions of making Money at first: She said: “I never for once even thought that I could make money from blogging. I didn’t begin blogging with the frame of mind that some day I would really make money from it.

As a matter of fact, it never even crossed my mind. I never said to myself that, OK let me start blogging now and maybe in five years time, I would begin to see the dividends. Most of our young bloggers have the intentions of money making that’s the truth.

3.) Determination: Determination helps you to see a silver lining when it is still hidden. Linda Ikeji is an example of a desperate Nigerian Youth (not a lazy youth).

She once said back then, she gets about 200 page views in a day. But do you know now there are about 150000 people running into her site everyday.
She really is a role model to most Nigerian youths.

These are the top secret of how she became famous despite having lots of bloggers before her.
Never forget to put God first.

Linda Ikeji is a famous blogger in Nigeria who in 2013 made it onto the list of Forbes influential bloggers which is no easy feat!

Her blog provides news, beauty tips, and celebrity gossip to her readers.

She started blogging when she was 17 years old with no background in journalism or writing experience.

She has been able to launch her own beauty line as well as a clothing line via print on demand.

She was also named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in 2014 and awarded an honorary doctorate from Babcock University.

Linda Ikeji continues to work hard to provide her readers with the latest posts and information on entertainment news.

doodlekit.comShe has been in the spotlight for her success and achievements as an entrepreneur while being one of Nigeria’s most successful bloggers to date.

Her blog began when she had just finished school with no further ideas about what career path to take until she discovered blogging.
Wait, that’s no longer news now, is it? The online community has been agog for hours: some expressing incredulity that their beloved blog and information portal had been unceremoniously taken from them. Most happy that finally the number one blog in Nigeria, West Africa, and probably the whole of Africa had been deleted/suspended. A minority however like yours truly are indifferent to the news. We’re neither fans nor haters.

So, why am I writing about the event if it bothers me little? Simple, Linda Ikeji’s blog is a symbol of something bigger than gossip, entertainment gist and unverified news and Linda Ikeji herself. Her blog has become a way of life in Nigeria, transcending tribe and race. You’ll be hard pressed to see any lady that does not take regular doses of the blog by spending a minimum of two hours on the blog weekly.

Hence, how could something so BIG built through sweat and Linda Ikeji years of hard work be deleted with a push of a button exposing the owner of the blog to simmering malice and outright display of insensitivity? What is the underlying story between Linda Ikeji and her malicious oppressor? How come her own blog was the only one deleted when it is common knowledge that blogging in Nigeria defines plagiarism? Why her?

The answer may not be too far fetched. As I’ve already posited, hers may be the biggest blog in Africa and worth over a million dollars (note: that figure I imagine is grossly below the real worth of http://www.lindaikeji.blogspot.com ), and in other to make a point, and show Nigerian bloggers that everything they are about may be removed with a few keystrokes.

I didn’t read the article written by Linda Ikeji, neither did I hear of any report, until a colleague said to me: dem don delete Linda Ikeji blog. I checked and went on twitter and there, the unthinkable had been done.

So, it is no longer news, Linda Ikeji’s blog is offline. Whether temporarily or permanently remains to be seen. How she responds to this setback in her blogging career will show the world the true manner of Linda Ikeji. I remember watching her interview on NDani TV and falling in love with her brilliance and tenacity. Her playful disposition and the fact that she held her own around Toolz made me respect her person immensely. That respect didn’t mean I became a fan of her blog; I fell in love with the person but couldn’t be bothered to endorse her work. I’d be lying though if I said that I do not occasionally get gist from her blog, no thanks to colleagues and friends.

Anyways, after learning of the recent setback to the blog, and in order to be objective seeing as all Nigerian bloggers plagiarize, I spoke with a few friends and felt the pulse of others. Yes, Linda Ikeji’s die hard fans like Arsenal fans are cussing the bad break on hate and they do not want to believe that Linda Ikeji herself may have a hand in this undoing. Wait, before you stone me, answer these few questions:
1: Where is the Linda Ikeji Blog office located?

2: How many people work there as full time employees of the blog? (Staff writers, IT dept, Legal, photographers e.t.c.)

3: Why hasn’t she paid for her own domain name and migrated her blog from lindaikeji.blogspot.com to lindaikeji.com (or whatever name she chooses)

4: As a top blogger, why doesn’t she give credit to the original writer/journalist (for want of a better word)?

And the list of questions been raised may be endless as people are having a field day with this discourse sparked off by Google doing exactly what Jennifer Lawrence accused them of not doing… Pushing the delete button.

At the end of the day, I expect Linda Ikeji to take away positives from this slight setback. If Google does not restore her blog, then she can always start another. However, the legal and financial implications to her may be dire. I imagine she’s losing money now with this downtime. And she’ll have to pay lawyers a handsome fee as retainer for them to take on Google.

Whatever finally happens, when this dust gathers and visibility has been restored, it is my earnest hope and prayer that all Nigerian bloggers will carve a niche for themselves by writing original, objective stories. I mean gossip shouldn’t be credited to anyone, but if it will land you in hot soup, you’d point out your source wouldn’t you?

7 Things Linda Ikeji Said About Breakup With Baby Daddy, Jeremi Sholaye

We don’t wake up every day to read an epistle from blogger, Linda Ikeji about her personal life and relationship so when it happens, every single line in that piece will definitely count.

Linda Ikeji in her comprehensive post on the relationship with former lover, now baby daddy, Jeremi Sholaye explained how it all started and didn’t end in the fairytale story she had envisaged.

After reading Linda’s post on her blog, here are seven things she said in summary of her relationship with Jeremi Sholaye.
1. Disappointing the young ladies who see her as a role model

Linda Ikeji kicked off her article on a very emotional note stating that she wasn’t happy that she ended up as a baby mama after all she had preached to young girls in secondary. She went on to reveal that she even canceled her tour just because she wanted to set the records straight.

“I’ve always been open about my life but I’m sharing details about my personal life mostly because of the girls who look up to me. The girls I have mentored, mentoring right now and plan to mentor in the future. I’m very particular about our young girls and I have personally tried over the years to be an example in some way; tried to teach these girls how to fight for their dreams, how to live right and do right and then I go and have a child out of wedlock and that must be a little confusing to some of them and especially with so many untruthful stuff out there about me,” she wrote.
2. How she met ‘prince charming’

According to Linda Ikeji, one question everyone had on their lips was how and when she met the father of her child. In her article, Linda Ikeji gave a story which could be written as a script on a romantic Hollywood movie.

“One of the things many people have asked me is how I met this man because we don’t run in the same circle. I was definitely searching and I fell in love almost immediately and so we became an item,” she wrote.
3. The love story

Linda Ikeji gives a detailed account of her failed relationship with Jeremi Sholaye

After meeting Jeremi Sholaye in that very interesting and romantic manner, Linda Ikeji and the young chap went on to have a very beautiful love story (At least that was she thought) From spending quality time together, this was one relationship that was heading to the altar.

“It was a whirlwind romance. He was the funniest and most romantic guy I’d met up until that point, so it was easy to fall in love and I truly believed the feeling was mutual. A few weeks after we met, it seemed like we were planning a future together. This man was already calling me Linda Ikeji Jeremi and making all these plans but then just like that, it was over between us.”
4. The off and on again game

Linda Ikeji is an excited one while commenting on the value of her Banana Island mansion.

Linda Ikeji went on to explain that after a while Jeremi complained about his inability to keep up with her public life which he felt was not necessary for his kind of lifestyle.

“I went from waking up every morning to love text messages from him to no more calls.

“By mid-2017, we were both still single and we started seeing each other again quietly. *sigh*,” she wrote.
5. Linda gets pregnant

It didn’t take long before Linda’s off and on again relationship with Jeremi led to her getting pregnant.

“Then I fell pregnant. It wasn’t planned, it just happened; though we talked about having a child together just two months before I fell pregnant. He said something about putting a billionaire baby inside me and I remember jokingly telling him that I’m also a billionaire so our child was going to be a billionaire on both side…and we laughed. But after I fell pregnant, things became extremely weird between us. If I tried to explain what happened, I wouldn’t be able to because it was confusing to me. We went from talking about the pregnancy and being okay with it; he even suggested I go to Dubai for my pre-natals as he didn’t trust doctors in Nigeria, to literally not talking to each other anymore,” she wrote.
6. Jeremi Sholaye gets a cold feet

For Linda Ikeji, at some point, Jeremi Sholaye became withdrawn and probably started having cold feet as he changed totally towards her.

“He later agreed to a traditional wedding which he didn’t follow through and then he switched. He began to treat me with so much hate and aggression that I and my family had to cut him off completely. To be honest, if anybody had told me when we met three years ago, considering how deeply we cared for each other that I would fall pregnant two years later and he would completely turn his back on me for most part of my pregnancy, I never would have believed it but that’s what happened. I had to draw strength from myself, my family and close friends.
7. Linda getting close to 40 so she was happy to be expecting a child

Linda Ikeji and her son, Jayce

One thing Linda Ikeji made clear was the happiness and joy she has because of her son, Jayce. She didn’t deny the fact that she was getting close to 40 so being pregnant wasn’t such a bad idea.

“But still, I have absolutely no iota of regret meeting Sholaye.

” I was 37 years old at the time I conceived and if I want to be honest, my age played a role in me allowing myself to be pregnant out of wedlock. I don’t want to be having kids in my 40s or struggling with fertility later in life. This wasn’t the plan but like I said before, life happens. You just have to find a way to make the best of what life throws at you,” she wrote.
